Septic, sewer & water · DC · Maryland · Virginia

Septic, sewer, and well work, coordinated from perc to final grade.

We dig for your licensed installer, run the lines, and restore the site. We help land buyers understand the septic and water question before they build.

Sound familiar?

The problem, in plain sight.

Septic and water decide whether you can build, where the house can sit, and how big it can be. The expensive surprises are in the ground.

Straight about the rules: septic systems are designed by licensed professionals, approved by the health department, and installed by licensed installers. DigRight is the excavation and site partner. We do not install septic systems. If that ever changes, this sentence changes first, with a license number.

  • Land with no public sewer, and a house still to place
  • A failed system that has to come out and a yard that has to be put back
  • A public sewer or water connection that needs a lateral
  • A well line from the well to the house
  • An installer who needs an excavation partner

Why it happens

The septic area shapes the rest of the lot.

The drainfield and the reserve area are not spare lawn. Driving on them, or siting the house and the drive through them, is how a lot gets expensive. We plan the clearing and the driveway around them.

A Land Assessment will not perc the soil. It will tell you whether a perc is the next step, and what else has to be true before a house is designed.

How we fix it

Assess. Plan. Execute.

01

Assess

Which of the three paths this is, what’s already approved, and who holds the installer license.

02

Plan

Where we dig, what we don’t drive on, and a price for the excavation and the restoration.

03

Execute

Open the ground for the installer, backfill when they say, and leave final grade that sheds water.

What moves the price

We’ll price the property, not a guess.

The price is in writing after we’ve seen the property.

  • Which path — new lot, replacement, or a public connection
  • Access and how wet the site is
  • How much of the yard has to be restored
  • Rock
  • Whether a designer and an installer are already hired

Questions

Before you send photos.

Will my land perc?

We can’t tell you that from a walk. A perc or a soil evaluation is a separate test, by the person the county requires, in the season the county allows. We can tell you whether you should spend money on that test.

When is perc season?

It varies by county and by the weather rules that year. We will not print a month here until it’s confirmed county by county.

Can you connect me to public sewer?

We can excavate the lateral and coordinate with the utility and your plumber. The connection itself is theirs. Availability of sewer is a county question, not a digging question.

I’m an installer. Can you be the excavation?

Yes. Tell us the county, the permit, and when the hole needs to be open.

What happens next

Send what you can see.

1. Send the place.

A few photos and the address. Rain video is gold if you have it.

2. We call.

Steve or a project lead will call you back.

3. A written plan.

If it’s a fit, we walk the property and give you a scope and a price in writing.
